Irma Barišić graduated in psychology at the Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, Department of Psychology in 2007.
After graduating from college, she started working at the Polyclinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the University of Medicine Clinic for Child Diseases in Zagreb, where she has been working for the last 14 years. After many years of gaining knowledge and experience, she gained the status of a clinical psychologist.
In addition to her basic university education, she also completed a postgraduate specialist study “Psychological Counseling” at the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka and acquired the title of University Specialist in Psychological Counseling. She has actively participated in several international and domestic congresses in the field of psychology. Prof. Barišić is co-author of several professional papers in the field of child and adolescent psychology.
In hers work, prof. Barišić conducts daily psychodiagnostics that includes testing of psychomotor, cognitive development and specific neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents. As part of hers work, she provides counseling to children, adolescents and their parents / guardians regarding educational procedures, developmental difficulties, and behavioral and emotional disorders. She prefers cognitive-behavioral therapeutic orientation in working with children and adolescents.
